The Road to Canterbury

Merchants

musicians Come, be a part of our Courtyard Faire!

The Faire lies at the heart of the event: the actual crossroads, the thoroughfare between the Tabard Inn and the tournament field. Many of the day’s activities will be taking place at the Faire, where passers-by will have ample time to stop and peruse your fine wares. Entertainment of all kinds, musicians, dancers, jugglers, and others will be interspersed among the Merchants.  The site offers plenty of space for those setting up shop at the crossroads, and for those who prefer to be indoors, space dedicated for merchants will be available for a small fee.

The Outdoor Space:

The majority of outdoor space is moderately level and shaded.  As you set up your booth, please keep in mind that as there is a modest presence of trees, so there may be a presence of roots.  Outdoor merchanting space is on a first-arrived-on-site, first-served basis for all approved merchants.  There is no fee for outdoor merchanting space.  Outdoor space has no electricity accessible to it and does not come with tables or chairs.

The ‘How To’:

All Merchants who would like space at the event (whether indoor or outdoor) must request and receive permission from the Merchant Liaison beforehand, and should purchase event reservations as customary.  Merchants desiring indoor space should make this request with the Merchant Liaison, who will provide a mailing address where payment for this space should be sent.  Please note: This is a separate payment from regular event registration fees; it goes to the Merchant Liaison at a separate address and must be a separate check.  Do not include this payment with any other payment of feast or reservations. Do not send payment for feast or reservations to the Merchant Liaison. Checks should be made payable to: SCA Inc., Shire of Quintavia, and include the mundane name, address and telephone number of the check account holder (or the check may not be accepted).

Loading and Unloading:

Vehicles are permitted at the Commons for unloading; however, this access may become limited as space fills up.  We therefore encourage merchants to set up on Friday, or early on Saturday.  We ask that merchants first unload their wares, and then park their vehicles before setting up their environments.  Please give all consideration to our parking staff as they direct you in a manner that will serve best.
