Directions to Camp Marshall

Due to the central location of our site, there are a number of ways a person could reach it; however, some of these ways are only recommended for the truly adventurous, or those who know the area well.

Our recommended route is the ‘cleanest’ method of approach, involving the least amount of time spent navigating backroads and small highways (and the only route likely to feature SCA signs).

From areas East, North, Northeast and Southeast of Spencer, MA:

Take your best route to I-90 in Massachusetts (the Mass Turnpike, portions toll). In Massachusetts, this could involve Hwy 146, I-495, I-95 or I-385, I-290, I-190 or I-93. Take I-90 West to Exit 9 (Sturbridge, MA). After exiting the toll booth, take the exit for Route 20 East. ** Follow below directions.

From areas West, Southwest and Northwest of Spencer, MA:

Take your best route to I-90 in Massachusetts (the Mass Turnpike, portions toll). In Massachusetts, this could involve I-91, I-291. Take I-90 East to Exit 9 (Sturbridge, MA). After exiting the toll booth, take the exit for Route 20 East. **Follow below directions.

From areas South of Spencer, MA:

Take I-84 East to Exit 3A (Route 20 East). **Follow below directions..

**(Mileage given is approximate). Take Route 20 East to Hwy. 49 North. Turn left at the light onto Hwy. 49 North. Stay on Hwy. 49 North until it ends in a T-intersection with Route 9. Take Route 9 East .3 miles to the first stop light (West Main Street in Spencer, MA). You will see a sign that says “To Route 31 North, Paxton”. Turn left onto West Main Street. After .3 miles, stay straight and the road becomes Meadow Road. After 1.2 miles, turn left onto Route 31 North. After .9 miles, turn right onto Cooney Road. After .8 miles, turn left onto Hastings Road. After .3 miles, bear right at the fork onto Gold Nugget Road. After .3 miles, turn left onto McCormick Road. Camp Marshall will be on the left after 1.9 miles (contrary to what most internet map systems might say).
